After the Farve fiasco in Greenbay Michael Strayhan opts to stay "retired" and in the broadcast booth.  While the $8 million dollar payday was never offered (and its a good thing) Strayhan did not confuse the love of the game with the love of the big payday.  So many pro sports atheletes come out of retirement for that big paycheck (Michael Jordon comes to mind) that don't really need it, nor does the game need them.

While you can't blame Strayhan for thinking about re-doing the deal, at least he had enough guts to stick to his guns and stay off the field and let the youngers have a shot at glory.

Farve on the otherhand had probably one more starting season with Greenbay had he stayed, and then perhaps become the backup the season after that.  Which for Greenbay would have been the best deal of all.  Rodgers is NOT ready to run the show IMHO, and in the opinion of a few thousand Greenbay fans, not to mention some Greenbay Players.

Okay, okay!  There is plenty of blame to go around with the whole Farve and Greenbay thing (heck I'm not even a Greenbay Fan) but I know a stupid trade when I see one!

I think the Jets may just have gotten the best end of this whole deal.  A seasoned veteran QB, some young talent with speed.  I say look for them to make the Wildcard if not more, but not the big dance (yet).

Well it looks like the so-called "Redeem Team" has accomplished their mission.

Not to take anything away from this great achievement, but I did notice quite a bit of impatience from the team.  When the three point shots were not dropping as they did in the first half, rather than falling back and regrouping and settling for a Two, they kept shooting the 3 ball trying to get it all back at once.  Spain on the otherhand took it right to the 'D' of Team USA, worked the paint and the 3 point line effectively, making Team USA work for their medal.

While I had no doubts that Team USA would pull it out with Mr. 4th Quarter (Kobe Bryant) this talented group of NBA players could stand to learn some patience when things don't come right away.

Game Over ... See you on the 50 yard line.
